3Operating Schedule
The operating schedule splits each climate bin's hours into occupied (“day” profile: higher internal gains, normal occupancy) and unoccupied (“evening” profile: standby loads only). The split fraction — 50.6 % operating — is applied uniformly to all temperature bins.
4Outdoor Temperature by Hour of Week
Typical outdoor temperature (°C) per hour per weekday for the selected location and season. Bright cells = operating hours per the schedule above. Faded cells = building is closed.
5Thermal Setpoints
Heating demand is calculated when outdoor temperature falls below the heating setpoint (net of internal gains + solar). Cooling is triggered above the cooling setpoint. Climate bin data: NEN5060 Dutch reference year (54 bins, −15 °C to +38 °C, 8 760 h/yr).
6Energy Systems
Heat Pump (ASHP / GSHP)
Cooling Machine / Chiller
Auxiliaries & Emissions
COP is corrected for outdoor temperature using a Carnot-ratio model: COP(T) = COPnom × √((Tcond − Tout, nom) / (Tcond − Tout)), clamped 1.1–8.0. EER drops 4 % per 10 °C above nominal outdoor temp. Flow temperature of 35 °C is used as condenser temperature for the COP model.
